Man Charged in Slaying of 4 Relatives

(RightWing.org) – A New York City man has been indicted for a brutal spree killing that left four of his family dead. The 24-year-old ran amok with a knife in his apartment. Two of the victims were young children.

Around 10:15 p.m. on July 19, the New York Police Department (NYPD) responded to a 911 call at an apartment on West Eighth Street. Inside they found the body of 56-year-old Fayzidva Mavlyuda, wrapped in a blanket and with multiple stab wounds in her neck. Nearby was her daughter-in-law, Maftuna Khakimova, 27, also dead from multiple stab wounds — and, worst of all, Khakimova’s two children aged just four and five, were found stabbed to death and stuffed in a laundry bag.

The killings were discovered when the childrens’ father, one of Mavlyuda’s sons and husband and father to the other victims, came home and discovered his mother’s body. After asking neighbors who were outside if they’d seen his family he called 911. When detectives responded they found the other bodies.

Then, Shahboz Rajabboev, who police believe is the son of Mavlyuda and the uncle of the dead children, arrived at the scene. Neighbors reported seeing him leave the building shortly before the children’s father asked about his family. When he came back, neighbors said he started screaming “Arrest me!” while also insisting he was innocent.

The detectives weren’t convinced; Rajabboev was immediately arrested on suspicion of the killings, and on July 21 he was indicted on four counts of first-degree murder. Police aren’t looking for any other suspects in the crime.

According to neighbors, Rajabboev was well known around the building, although his relatives tried to keep him in the apartment. Neighbors called him “scary” and “aggressive,” with one comparing his expression to “a crazed bulldog.” Another said “You could tell something wasn’t right with him.” He allegedly smoked marijuana regularly, and neighbors said when he was smoking he lost control of his anger.
