Conspiracy Theories Swirl After Trump Shot at Rally

(RightWing.org) – Former president and current GOP nominee Donald Trump narrowly escaped assassination over the weekend. However, some Liberals are denying the murder attempt was real. Desperate to downplay the event, they’re resorting to incredible conspiracy theories.

On July 13, Trump was speaking at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, when a gunman opened fire from a rooftop around 500 feet away. Trump was grazed by a single bullet that tore through his ear; a rally attendee was killed and two more wounded before Secret Service marksmen killed the attacker. The assassination attempt was caught on multiple cameras — but, within hours, leftists were claiming it was all a hoax.

According to conspiracy theorists on X (formerly Twitter), the whole thing was staged to boost Trump’s popularity with voters. According to one delusional commenter, “This whole thing will be found out to be a hoax. All orchestrated by Trump.” Another, who hadn’t bothered to read any details, complained that after “3 shots, nobody hit, don’t rush him off stage” — wannabe assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks fired eight shots, he hit four people and footage clearly shows Secret Service agents evacuating Trump — the former president “makes his photo op.” Others pointed out that Pennsylvania is a key swing state that Trump needs to win in November. Some speculated that when Trump grabbed at his ear after the bullet hit him, he was actually bursting a blood capsule on the side of his head.

Meanwhile, the Secret Service has confirmed that Trump was injured in the attack. That rules out any chance of the shooting having been staged; the dispersal of shots from even a precision rifle would make it far too dangerous to deliberately shoot Trump in the ear. The bullet would be much more likely to kill him, which really wouldn’t be much of an election-winning strategy.
