Car Thief Defeated by Elderly Man

(RightWing.org) – A Florida thief decided stealing an elderly man’s car would be easy — but got a big surprise instead. When his victim caught him in the act, the criminal immediately assaulted him. Then it turned around on him and he got a beating, followed by an arrest.

Early in the morning of June 27 a 66-year-old man in Brevard County, Florida, heard someone trying to break into his truck. As a responsible citizen, he immediately called 911, then went outside to protect his property. There, he found himself facing 29-year-old Blake Robinson. Robinson promptly attacked him, punching him in the head and knocking him down. That would have been a good time for the criminal to make a getaway, but he decided it was a better idea to hang around and kick the older man in the head.

It wasn’t. His victim quickly got back up and started throwing punches of his own. When deputies from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office arrived a few minutes later they found Robinson was the one on the ground, and his feisty victim was doing his best to keep him there. The criminal was swiftly arrested.

The amused Sheriff’s Office soon took to social media to announce the crime, and have some fun at Robinson’s expense while they were at it. Beginning with “Welcome to Brevard County, where we proudly support… “Play stupid games…win stupid prizes”!!,” they went on to report that when deputies got there they found “Mr Tough Guy” in the process of “getting his butt whipped.” They went on to taunt the wannabe thief by discussing his chauffeured ride to the hospital and the “freshly washed 2 piece ensemble” he was given to wear in “Ivey’s Iron Bar Lodge.”

Robinson has been charged with burglary of a conveyance and battery on a person over the age of 65 and is being held on a $30,000 bond.
