What Eisenhower Predicted Has Come True

(RightWing.org) – Dwight David Eisenhower (a.k.a. Ike/DDE) wore many hats in his adult life after his 1890 birth in Denison, Texas. During World War II he became the leader of the Allied Expeditionary Force in Europe as a five-star general. Afterward, he served as president of Columbia University in New York City for 5 years starting in 1948 and two terms as President of the United States (POTUS) from 1953 – 1961. He was also, so it seems, an astute observer of human nature when he predicted some of the events taking place in the 21st Century, as disgusting as they are.

However, a quick history lesson for context is desperately needed here. Although the Democrats have spent decades distorting the truth, political scientists note that Adolf Hitler and the Nazi (National SOCIALIST) party began from the same place as Joseph Stalin and the USSR — the political Left. So, it should surprise no one that the anti-Israel sentiment rising across the United States is coming from that end of the spectrum now.

Evil Denied/Forgotten

As the Allied armies liberated Germany and closed in on Berlin in the final throes of World War II, Eisenhower happened to come across the Ohrdruf Concentration Camp near Gotha, Germany (it lies approximately halfway between Frankfurt and Dresden) and it had a profound effect on him.

However, in an April 15, 1945, letter to Army Chief of Staff George Marshall, after recounting the interview of three former prisoners, what he heard and saw of the “starvation, cruelty and bestiality (whether the literal sexual deviancy is meant is left unclear) are so overpowering as to leave me a bit sick.” Eisenhower continued and relayed a specific instance when he came to a room where dozens of naked corpses were piled one upon another of men who had been starved to death, which Patton refused to enter for fear of vomiting.

A few days later in another message to Marshall, DDE assured his superior in Washington, DC, that everything printed about the concentration camps to that point had been an “understatement,” and kindly offered to arrange a tour of one if it were to be decided that sending a couple of plane loads of congressional leaders and newspaper editors over there would be a good idea.

The reason that he forced himself to tour Ohrdruf and document what he saw was so that he could “give first-hand evidence of these things if ever, in the future, there develops a tendency to charge these allegations merely to ‘propaganda’.”

One has to wonder how Ike would’ve reacted if he had been the president of Columbia University now, and had seen the disgusting antisemitic display on the campus denouncing Israel for defending itself from unprovoked terrorist attacks from groups supported by the Islamic Republic of Iran. Radical Islamist Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s daughter Isra Hirsi was one of more than 100 people arrested and one of three suspended from Bernard College for her role in similar activities.
